Dress For the Season
As Spring and Summer are fast approaching, it is important to know what the key looks are, and what to avoid when updating your wardrobe. So here’s a few to look out for…
Jackets: Layers are sticking with us from winter, and its all about boyfriend blazers and cropped jacket. Blazers skim the thighs and provide excellent cover and cropped jacket accentuate the waist. Crops work with most dresses, skirts and trousers- but not pencil skirts!
Harem trousers: Finally we can stop obsessing over drainpipes and boyfriend jeans, and focus our attentions onto something new! Floppy trousers! Harem pants are those fitted waist, saggy crotch trousers, not too dissimilar to those seen in Aladdin! Then there’s banana trousers and jodhpurs, which carry off similar styles, and all of which look great with wedges and a light blouse.

Bik Bok harem trousers £20- I have these!
Colour: Although monochrome is still clogging up catwalks, there has been a colour break through to brighten up the dull, dreary winter. Think bold pinks, purples, yellow, and even pea green. Confine the colour to one piece, and pair with up to date statement accessories.
Denim: Not necessarily jeans, denim is now dominating the jacket scene. The lighter the better, even try 80′s acid-wash denim for a vintage feel. Why not add two key elements together and go for a cropped, light denim jacket. They go beautifully over most day dresses. Just be careful not to overload on the denim, you may end up looking like a 90′s popstar.

No! Denim overload!
